The Costa Brava is a very popular destination for car-travellers from all over Europe. The beautiful sandy beaches, romantic coves, eerie steep cliffs, green spaces and vibrant nightlife dotted around the Costa Brava, provide something for everyone. Blanes, formerly a quiet fishing village, is the southernmost town on the Costa Brava. The town is still very well preserved and in the adjacent harbour the fishermen can still be found, tending to their nets daily. Next to the old town of Blanes you can find a tourist centre, which naturally gets very busy in the summer with the many cosy restaurants, souvenir shops, bars and clubs provide Blanes with vibrancy. Would you prefer something quieter? Visit the botanical gardens of Blanes, Mar i Murtra atop of the mountain resort. Can you not only find a diverse and vast amount of flora, you are also granted with a breath-taking view over the bay of Blanes. Other tips for your day trips include; a short drive up the road to Tossa de Mar, a visit to the city of Barcelona or the neighbouring towns of Lloret de Mar, Malgrat de Mar and Santa Susanna.
